What to expect from the shoe?
New Balance Ellipse V1
After an intense training session, you hit the calm track and your feet crave softness. That's exactly why the women's running sneakers Ellipse V1 were created, providing maximum cushioning to soften every landing during recovery and daily training when you want to build volume without unnecessary strain. The fresh green colorway adds a bold, sporty look.
Underfoot, you have the Fresh Foam X midsole, measuring 38 mm at the heel and 30 mm at the toe. The 8 mm drop supports a smooth transition from landing to takeoff, and neutral runners will appreciate the lack of pronation correction. Despite being a high-profile sneaker, it weighs only 218 g, so you won’t feel weighed down. The breathable engineered mesh upper helps wick away heat and comfortably wraps around your foot, while the standard insole width fits most feet. The rubber outsole grips well on asphalt and withstands frequent road wear. The brand New Balance was founded in 1906 in Boston as a manufacturer of orthopedic insoles, and comfort and a good fit remain their top priority.
New Balance Ellipse V1
New Balance Ellipse V1 Road Running Shoes
The New Balance Ellipse V1 represents the ultimate design in the road running shoe segment, focusing on the perfect harmony between cushioning and mechanical stability. This silhouette was developed for runners looking for a reliable partner for everyday training and long volume runs on hard asphalt surfaces. The name "Ellipse" refers to the unique geometry of the midsole, which is designed to optimize the transition from impact to rebound and minimize energy loss at every stage of the stride.
Elliptical geometry and Fresh Foam X technology
The main technological pillar of the shoe is the midsole using premium Fresh Foam X foam, which in this version offers a modified density for increased durability. The specific elliptical cut-outs in the cushioning layer are not just an aesthetic feature; they are strategically placed to provide maximum softness in the zones of greatest load, while the shoe remains stiff enough for dynamic rebound. This synergy ensures high energy return and a smooth, natural rolling motion of the foot, which significantly saves the feet and joints.
Engineered Mesh and Adaptive Foot Fixation
The upper of the shoe is made of Engineered Mesh, a technologically advanced knitted fabric that excels in its ability to thermoregulate. Thanks to the variable density of the weave, the shoe provides high breathability in the forefoot, while in the heel and toe area it provides the necessary structural support. The lacing system is integrated to distribute pressure evenly, which combined with the padded heel collar creates a secure "lock-down" effect. This feeling of absolute fixation is crucial for stability at higher tempos or sudden changes of direction.
Durability and traction with Ndurance technology
Long life and reliable grip on dry and wet roads are guaranteed by the Ndurance high-resistance rubber outsole. This compound is applied at the points of greatest wear, extending the life of the shoe even for runners with higher mileage. The layout of the traction segments supports the natural biomechanics of the foot and ensures confidence in every step.
Who runs in them?
The New Balance Ellipse V1 is the primary choice for neutral-footed runners who require a higher level of stability without having to reach for corrective models. With its robust cushioning and wider base, this model is an excellent choice for runners in heavier weight classes or those who prefer maximum comfort during recovery runs. It is a versatile tool for anyone who wants to combine the New Balance brand tradition with the latest scientific findings in sports biomechanics.

More than a century of tradition based on stable and reliable movement. These are the New Balance shoes, which have become a symbol around which a cult of comfortable walking and running lovers has been created during the 20th century. But beyond sneakers, New Balance is also at the forefront of everyday and sports fashion. Every year, a special collection is released and more than one football team boasts the NB logo on their jersey.
The history and development of New Balance shoes
On our website and practically anywhere else, you won't find a large number of brands as old as New Balance. In fact, as early as 1906, the New Balance Arch Support Company was formed to provide specific aids for each shoe. These were designed to not only provide comfort to the then not-so-comfortable shoes, but more importantly stability by supporting the arch of the foot - hence the name New Balance.
However, New Balance sneakers as shoes did not start to come out until many years later. Specifically, the first silhouette of a New Balance shoe saw the light of day in 1960 when the Trackster model came out. It was unique among the others primarily because it was the first outright running shoe with a crimped sole.
But the marketing didn't work very well and for a long time New Balance shoes were still a community affair. It wasn't until the 1970s that sales started to grow, with the popularisation of running, which was also linked to the hosting of the now iconic Boston Marathon. New Balance shoes began to become popular among runners and the company slowly but surely became a leading manufacturer of running shoes.
For running? Yes, but also no.
Today, however, men's and women's New Balance sneakers aren't just a running thing. Over years of branding and image building, they have become sneakers for almost every situation. Today we wear New Balance shoes before a trip to the countryside, a city walk but also a social event and still undoubtedly before a sporting performance.
New Balance sneakers can therefore be found in a variety of different designs. Men's and women's, in black and white and many other colours. The most popular models today are mainly New Balance sneakers with the 247, 373, 574 and 997. Of course, you can find all these New Balance shoes on Footshop. But besides these, there are also many others and the ranges of the latest silhouettes are constantly growing. So before you make your final choice, carefully examine all of our New Balance sneakers.
A record for stability.
New Balance footwear today is not afraid to venture into collaborations with other fashion brands, but also artists or athletes. It's not so long ago that the NB logo also started to appear on the jerseys of some football teams, and it's not impossible that the brand's influence and reach will continue to grow in the future. New Balance sneakers are worn, for example, by Trayvon Bromell, the American sprinter who became the first junior ever to break the magic ten-second mark in the 100 metres. Could it be that New Balance shoes helped him to achieve this?
In short,New Balance sneakers are a phenomenon that we have been wearing for many decades and everything indicates that we will be wearing them for many decades to come. And hopefully in greater numbers. The original intention of the brand, to make wearing sneakers on a daily basis more enjoyable, has not left New Balance shoes even more than a century after the legendary phrase was introduced to the market.
So be part of a tradition with a clear vision and name your sneakers with the iconic NB in the logo.
