Autry Easeknit Low Wom

Autry Easeknit: The lightness of a knitted upper and a modern interpretation of the Texas archive

The Autry Easeknit range, featured in Footshop’s selection, represents a groundbreaking evolutionary step in the portfolio of this originally Texan brand. Autry’s traditional silhouettes, known primarily for their chunky leather constructions from the 1980s, take on a whole new dimension here thanks to the advanced Easeknit knitted fabric technology. The result is a fusion of the unmistakable retro trainer shape with the lightness, exceptional breathability and flexibility of modern urban footwear designed for the warmer months.

Story and innovation: From heavy leather to technical knit

With this range, the Autry brand responds to the demands of today’s fast-paced lifestyle without compromising on its iconic visual identity:

• The evolution of the Medalist silhouette: The basic shape, proportions and characteristic stitched midsole remain true to the original model, but the entire upper construction has been deconstructed and reimagined as a breathable knit.

• Zone-knitting technology: The structured knitted material seamlessly adapts to the anatomy of the foot, eliminates pressure points and offers optimal ventilation even on hot summer days.

• Authentic branding retained: The signature woven patch featuring the American flag and the Autry logo is proudly displayed on the knitted upper, preserving the shoe’s unmistakable retro heritage.

Design and material advantages of the Easeknit range

The Autry Easeknit trainers combine the lightness of textile technologies with elements of premium shoemaking craftsmanship:

• Easeknit zoned knitted upper: The texture of the knit varies according to stress – it is looser in the toe and instep areas for maximum air circulation, whilst it is more densely woven on the sides and heel for optimum lateral stability.

• Leather stabilising elements: The reinforced heel and the area around the lacing use top-quality leather, which gives the shoe a sturdy shape and extends its overall lifespan.

• Removable leather insole: The anatomically shaped inner insole, covered in soft leather, cushions every step and ensures a high level of hygiene and thermal comfort.

• Classic rubber sole with a vintage patina: The flat sole, with its subtle yellowish tint, guarantees stability, reliable traction and an authentic 1980s look.

Who wears and embodies the Autry brand style?

These trainers featuring the American flag have become a staple in the wardrobes of international celebrities, fashion icons and professional athletes who appreciate the blend of casual elegance and effortless retro luxury:

• Hollywood and global pop culture: The brand has been embraced by style icons such as Reese Witherspoon, Alessandra Ambrosio and Luka Sabbat, who regularly choose it as the foundation for their relaxed urban outfits.

• Sporting icons off the pitch: The brand’s supporters include leading tennis players and football stars, drawn to its historic links with racket sports and a strong athletic tradition.

• Leading fashion designers and stylists: Autry styles regularly appear on the feet of influential stylists and attendees at global Fashion Weeks in Milan and Paris as the perfect example of the ‘quiet luxury’ aesthetic.
