Hoka® Speedgoat 7 GTX
All-black men's trail sneakers Hoka® Speedgoat 7 GTX in Black/Carbon Black look understated and clean, but beneath the subtle silhouette lies a model built for rocks, roots, and mud. You can wear them for a morning run on forest trails or for a longer outdoor adventure in the mountains without worrying about the rain. The dark colorway also hides dust and smudges, so you can comfortably head back to the city.
The upper made of synthetic materials and textiles features a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane that adheres directly to the material. This keeps the sneaker waterproof while avoiding creases and bulk. Durability is enhanced with Cordura® elements. The CMEVA foam midsole absorbs impacts over long distances, and the Vibram® Megagrip outsole provides traction even on wet rocks. The quick-lacing system tightens with a single motion, and classic laces are included in the package. Reflective elements increase your visibility in low light, and the standard D width fits most feet. The Speedgoat model is named after ultramarathoner Karl Meltzer. The HOKA® brand was founded in 2009 in Annecy, France, by two mountain running enthusiasts and is known for its distinctive cushioning that runners appreciate both on trails and roads.
Hoka® Speedgoat
Aggressive grip, stability and confidence for the technical trail - Hoka® Speedgoat
The Hoka Speedgoat is one of Hoka's most iconic trail shoes. They're designed for running on tough terrain where you need maximum traction, stability and reliable cushioning for long miles in the mountains. With a distinctive foam layer and Meta-Rocker geometry, they provide a smooth stride, sure footing and comfort even on longer races or mountain expeditions. The Speedgoat line is known for its aggressiveness and excellent foot hold, which you'll appreciate on technical sections.
The model is available in several versions depending on your running style. The Speedgoat 5 is the latest and most versatile version - lighter than the previous generation, more stable and with a redesigned upper for better breathability. The Speedgoat Mid GTX offers a raised cut and GORE-TEX® membrane for cooler or wet runs. And the Speedgoat GTX with its waterproof design is ideal for rough weather, winter runs and terrain full of mud or snow. All variants have an aggressive outsole with Vibram® Megagrip compound and 5mm grips for confidence even in tough conditions.
They work best on rocks, mud, roots, gravel and mountain trails where their grip and stable platform come into full effect. With normal trail use, you can expect a lifespan of around 600-900 km, depending on the terrain and running style. If you're looking for a shoe that will hold you up on steep climbs, technical descents and variable surfaces, the Hoka Speedgoat is the obvious choice.
