New Balance 1890
Do you have a weakness for retro running looks that feel technical yet effortless? The Men's Sneakers New Balance 1890 in Slate Grey/Grey Matter/Silver Metallic will catch your eye with layered shades of grey that are brought to life by metallic silver accents. The 1890 model draws from the aesthetics of early 2000s running shoes and translates it into everyday wear. You can easily pair it with anything in your wardrobe.
The upper combines breathable textile with suede, giving the sneaker structure and depth of color. The midsole features ABZORB cushioning that absorbs impact with every step, allowing you to stay comfortable during long hours of walking. The rubber outsole provides reliable grip on both pavement and wet asphalt, and the standard D width fits most feet. When you're heading home after dark, you'll appreciate the reflective elements that enhance your visibility. The low cut is perfect for the city, pairing well with wide jeans, cargo pants, or a technical jacket. New Balance was founded in 1906 in Boston and continues to prioritize comfort and quality craftsmanship, making its sneakers a favorite choice for collectors and anyone who simply wants to walk well. You can find the 1890 model on Footshop.
New Balance 1890
Unique Upper of New Balance 1890: The Perfect Play of Contrasts for an Unmissable Look
Looking for sneakers that perfectly capture the current wave of retro-futurism while bringing a fresh design language? The New Balance 1890 collection (often referred to as U1890) features one of the most interesting silhouettes available at Footshop. Boston designers created a fascinating hybrid with this model – taking the best from iconic running archives of the millennium and giving the shoe a tougher, utilitarian character. The result is premium lifestyle sneakers that adapt seamlessly to the dynamic pace of modern metropolises as well as the aesthetics of technical urban outdoor.
Innovative Construction: DNA from the 890v3 Models and the Legendary 2002R Series
What makes the New Balance 1890 an absolute standout for sneakerheads is its thoughtful architecture. The shoe’s upper plays with contrasts and textures. The base is made of highly breathable open mesh, over which a specific wavy pattern of synthetic and leather overlays is applied, inspired by the technical runner New Balance 890v3. This construction gives the shoe an aggressive yet luxurious look that instantly catches attention in any outfit.
Uncompromising comfort is ensured by a technological platform borrowed from the global bestseller New Balance 2002R. At the heart of the shoe is the midsole with an integrated cushioning system ABZORB®. This polymer component perfectly absorbs and disperses energy generated upon impact with hard urban asphalt. Combined with torsional stability in the midfoot, the 1890 model guarantees that your feet stay in maximum comfort even after a full day spent on the streets.
Usage and Styling: From the Streets of Seoul to Footshop's Curated Selection
The New Balance 1890 collection was created for those who love balancing on the edge of fashion and functionality. After all, the global campaign inspired by South Korea's Seoul showed how naturally this shoe connects high-energy urban style with mountainous landscapes.

Materials
More than a century of tradition based on stable and reliable movement. These are the New Balance shoes, which have become a symbol around which a cult of comfortable walking and running lovers has been created during the 20th century. But beyond sneakers, New Balance is also at the forefront of everyday and sports fashion. Every year, a special collection is released and more than one football team boasts the NB logo on their jersey.
The history and development of New Balance shoes
On our website and practically anywhere else, you won't find a large number of brands as old as New Balance. In fact, as early as 1906, the New Balance Arch Support Company was formed to provide specific aids for each shoe. These were designed to not only provide comfort to the then not-so-comfortable shoes, but more importantly stability by supporting the arch of the foot - hence the name New Balance.
However, New Balance sneakers as shoes did not start to come out until many years later. Specifically, the first silhouette of a New Balance shoe saw the light of day in 1960 when the Trackster model came out. It was unique among the others primarily because it was the first outright running shoe with a crimped sole.
But the marketing didn't work very well and for a long time New Balance shoes were still a community affair. It wasn't until the 1970s that sales started to grow, with the popularisation of running, which was also linked to the hosting of the now iconic Boston Marathon. New Balance shoes began to become popular among runners and the company slowly but surely became a leading manufacturer of running shoes.
For running? Yes, but also no.
Today, however, men's and women's New Balance sneakers aren't just a running thing. Over years of branding and image building, they have become sneakers for almost every situation. Today we wear New Balance shoes before a trip to the countryside, a city walk but also a social event and still undoubtedly before a sporting performance.
New Balance sneakers can therefore be found in a variety of different designs. Men's and women's, in black and white and many other colours. The most popular models today are mainly New Balance sneakers with the 247, 373, 574 and 997. Of course, you can find all these New Balance shoes on Footshop. But besides these, there are also many others and the ranges of the latest silhouettes are constantly growing. So before you make your final choice, carefully examine all of our New Balance sneakers.
A record for stability.
New Balance footwear today is not afraid to venture into collaborations with other fashion brands, but also artists or athletes. It's not so long ago that the NB logo also started to appear on the jerseys of some football teams, and it's not impossible that the brand's influence and reach will continue to grow in the future. New Balance sneakers are worn, for example, by Trayvon Bromell, the American sprinter who became the first junior ever to break the magic ten-second mark in the 100 metres. Could it be that New Balance shoes helped him to achieve this?
In short,New Balance sneakers are a phenomenon that we have been wearing for many decades and everything indicates that we will be wearing them for many decades to come. And hopefully in greater numbers. The original intention of the brand, to make wearing sneakers on a daily basis more enjoyable, has not left New Balance shoes even more than a century after the legendary phrase was introduced to the market.
So be part of a tradition with a clear vision and name your sneakers with the iconic NB in the logo.
