New Balance 1080 v15
Are you drawn to daily kilometers on asphalt and looking for men's running sneakers with high cushioning, like the New Balance 1080 v15? This model is built for runners who want to log miles without feeling sore the next day. You can wear them for a morning easy run or a longer weekend route, and with every step, you'll feel how softly you land. Plus, in a bold yellow color, you won't go unnoticed on the road.
The foundation of the 1080 v15 is the infiniFOAM midsole, which absorbs impact and provides the high cushioning you'll appreciate, especially on hard surfaces. The neutral construction is ideal if you don't need any footstrike correction, making these sneakers a versatile companion for daily training. The textile upper wraps around your foot comfortably and allows it to breathe, while the low cut gives your ankle freedom, and the rubber outsole ensures reliable grip on asphalt and sidewalks. The 1080 series is one of New Balance's flagship models for comfortable running. Founded in 1906 in Boston, the brand continues to emphasize meticulous craftsmanship and a focus on comfort.
New Balance 1080
Maximum Comfort for Your Daily Run - New Balance 1080
Few running shoes survive one major technological transformation, let alone two. New Balance 1080 has done just that – from a valued long-distance trainer, it first became the flagship of Fresh Foam and in the latest generation, it has moved on to even newer technology. With over fifteen versions and more than a decade of development, the 1080 remains synonymous with comfortable, cushioned miles on a daily basis. It’s a shoe that proves reliability can be as strong a trait as innovation.
History: From Award-Winning Long-Distance Trainer to Fresh Foam
The original 1080 was released in 2011 as a long-distance running model with significant cushioning, quickly earning recognition, especially in the American market. A pivotal moment came in 2016, when version v6 was the first in the series to adopt the then-new Fresh Foam – a change that defined the shoe for many years as the flagship of this technology at New Balance. Fresh Foam remained at the core of the 1080 until version v14, when the latest v15 from 2026 transitioned to the updated Infinion foam, thus dropping the name “Fresh Foam” from its designation – further proof that New Balance is not afraid to change established technological heritage in its flagship model.
Technology: Fresh Foam X Midsole and Reinforced Outsole
What makes the latest generation with Fresh Foam X so comfortable for both long and lighter runs are these elements:
- Fresh Foam X Midsole: Pure EVA foam (without PEBA blend) tuned for a slightly firmer yet still “cloud-like” soft ride, offering extremely high shock absorption capabilities in the latest versions – among the highest values on the market.
- Increased Midsole Density: The new foam density prevents the midsole from “bottoming out” on hard surfaces during longer runs, making the shoe more suitable for heavier runners and long distances.
- Reinforced Rubber Outsole with Prominent Lugs: Thicker, more pronounced lugs (including a substantial segment under the toe) prevent excessive compression of the soft foam upon impact while adding stiffness that complements the rocker geometry.
Durability
The 1080 is among the more durable daily trainers on the market – the average lifespan is around 640 km, but many runners report preserved cushioning well beyond this threshold. The recessed rubber outsole, which integrates into the soft midsole, also slows down overall material wear.
Who This Model is For
The 1080 is a sports shoe for you if you run regular light to medium-long miles and recovery jogs and seek maximum comfort with high durability – it’s less suitable for fast tempo training, where a more pronounced energy return is lacking.

Details
More than a century of tradition based on stable and reliable movement. These are the New Balance shoes, which have become a symbol around which a cult of comfortable walking and running lovers has been created during the 20th century. But beyond sneakers, New Balance is also at the forefront of everyday and sports fashion. Every year, a special collection is released and more than one football team boasts the NB logo on their jersey.
The history and development of New Balance shoes
On our website and practically anywhere else, you won't find a large number of brands as old as New Balance. In fact, as early as 1906, the New Balance Arch Support Company was formed to provide specific aids for each shoe. These were designed to not only provide comfort to the then not-so-comfortable shoes, but more importantly stability by supporting the arch of the foot - hence the name New Balance.
However, New Balance sneakers as shoes did not start to come out until many years later. Specifically, the first silhouette of a New Balance shoe saw the light of day in 1960 when the Trackster model came out. It was unique among the others primarily because it was the first outright running shoe with a crimped sole.
But the marketing didn't work very well and for a long time New Balance shoes were still a community affair. It wasn't until the 1970s that sales started to grow, with the popularisation of running, which was also linked to the hosting of the now iconic Boston Marathon. New Balance shoes began to become popular among runners and the company slowly but surely became a leading manufacturer of running shoes.
For running? Yes, but also no.
Today, however, men's and women's New Balance sneakers aren't just a running thing. Over years of branding and image building, they have become sneakers for almost every situation. Today we wear New Balance shoes before a trip to the countryside, a city walk but also a social event and still undoubtedly before a sporting performance.
New Balance sneakers can therefore be found in a variety of different designs. Men's and women's, in black and white and many other colours. The most popular models today are mainly New Balance sneakers with the 247, 373, 574 and 997. Of course, you can find all these New Balance shoes on Footshop. But besides these, there are also many others and the ranges of the latest silhouettes are constantly growing. So before you make your final choice, carefully examine all of our New Balance sneakers.
A record for stability.
New Balance footwear today is not afraid to venture into collaborations with other fashion brands, but also artists or athletes. It's not so long ago that the NB logo also started to appear on the jerseys of some football teams, and it's not impossible that the brand's influence and reach will continue to grow in the future. New Balance sneakers are worn, for example, by Trayvon Bromell, the American sprinter who became the first junior ever to break the magic ten-second mark in the 100 metres. Could it be that New Balance shoes helped him to achieve this?
In short,New Balance sneakers are a phenomenon that we have been wearing for many decades and everything indicates that we will be wearing them for many decades to come. And hopefully in greater numbers. The original intention of the brand, to make wearing sneakers on a daily basis more enjoyable, has not left New Balance shoes even more than a century after the legendary phrase was introduced to the market.
So be part of a tradition with a clear vision and name your sneakers with the iconic NB in the logo.
