The durable fabric Cordura®, known from work backpacks and outdoor gear, forms the upper of the slippers from Carhartt WIP created in collaboration with the Japanese brand SUBU. It is made of high-strength nylon fibres (polyamide) that are specially textured to achieve extreme mechanical resistance while maintaining a relatively light weight. Cordura is the standard for expedition backpacks, motorcycle clothing, tactical gear and stressed parts of work and outdoor footwear. In addition to its ruggedness, the material is often coated or DWR-treated, giving it water-repellent properties and resistance to dirt. In footshop and streetwear, you'll see it in premium sneaker models and accessories that are designed to withstand even the toughest urban treatment.
UpperTextileTextileThe textile upper of the sneakers is lightweight, breathable and comfortable, ideal for everyday wear and sports. It ensures air circulation, keeps feet fresh and adapts to their shape. Often complemented with synthetic or rubber details for durability and support.
SoleRubberRubberThe rubber sole is a traditional and highly reliable element in the construction of footwear, valued especially for its extreme mechanical resistance and grip. This contact layer is made of natural or synthetic rubber, which is characterized by its high density and elasticity. Due to its physical properties, it provides excellent traction on a wide range of surfaces, from smooth asphalt to unpaved terrain. In addition, the rubber is naturally waterproof and resistant to temperature fluctuations, ensuring stability and a secure stride in a variety of climatic conditions.

Founded in 1994 by Edwin Faehe, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) develops custom collections based on original Carhartt workwear. The brand combines authentic adaptations of rugged American archetypes and collaborates with the subcultures that surrounded it. On the other hand, Carhartt WIP also managed to get into new contexts and bring its own classics. From the late 1980s onwards, countercultures around the world adopted the rugged spirit of Carhartt originals workwear and created their own style. With a growing network and a strong base, Carhartt WIP opened its first store in London in 1997 and began to engage in cultural spheres outside its own industry. As a result, the brand established its own skate team and music department, while supporting a number of artists and publishing various publications.

Since 2010, Carhartt WIP has collaborated with a number of like-minded brands including A.P.C., Converse, Fragment Design, Junya Watanabe, Nike and Vetements, as well as working with music icons such as Fela Kuti, Underground Resistance and Vestax.
