adidas Japan Handball Spezial
You're heading out to the city, you've picked your jeans, and all that's left are the sneakers to complete your outfit with a confident line. The black men's sneakers Japan Handball Spezial from adidas Originals fit this role perfectly. It's a low retro model that takes the best from the sports footwear archive and translates it into today's style. Once you put them on, you'll immediately know these are not just another anonymous sneaker.
The upper made of suede is soft to the touch, comfortably conforms to your foot, and in black, it looks elegant even after long wear. The rubber outsole provides reliable grip on pavement and gives the sneakers their characteristic flat profile, while the low cut leaves your ankle free. Pair them with straight jeans, wide pants, or joggers, and they'll always fit perfectly. The Spezial line is inspired by handball shoes from the late seventies and is now one of the most popular retro sneakers from the brand. adidas Originals is a lifestyle line from the German company based in Herzogenaurach, drawing from a rich sports archive and bringing it into everyday wardrobes.

adidas Handball Spezial
From indoor top to global streetwear icon - adidas Handball Spezial
The adidas Handball Spezial is one of the greatest jewels of the adidas Originals division . These sneakers first appeared in 1979 in what was then West Germany, where they were designed as an elite shoe for handball players. At the time, handball required a specific stability that could withstand the extreme stress of rotations on a hard indoor surface. However, it didn't take long for the model to conquer British football stadiums and become a mainstay of the terrace subculture thanks to its unmistakable aesthetic . Today, Spezialas are a symbol of effortless urban style and stand alongside legends like Samba and Gazelle in the popularity charts.
Premium materials and technology proven over decades
Whatmakes Spezial special is the emphasis on premium craftsmanship. The shoe's upper is traditionally made of ultra-fine brushed suede, complemented by the iconic three stripes and gold Spezial lettering on the side, which adds a touch of luxury to the shoe. The key hallmark is the low-profile rubber sole with a subtle pattern, originally designed for maximum grip on parquet floors but now providing perfect stability on the city pavement. The typical T-toe reinforcement gives the shoe an iconic profile and increases its durability for everyday wear.
Interesting fact: The status symbol of the European Casuals
Football fans used to travel around Europe to visit their clubs, bringing back these rare models from trips to Germany, which were not available in Britain at the time. This made the Speziala status symbol of refined taste. Today, this silhouette is sought after for its authentic vintage look and its ability to complement both technical cargo trousers and more formal outfits perfectly. It's a shoe for those who appreciate a timeless classic that continues to dictate trends on the streets of the world's metropolises.
Materials
adidas Originals are not just sneakers but an entire culture that has developed around them. Ever since the brand with the iconic three stripes appeared on the scene, it has shaped the sports world as well as streetwear and pop culture. The history of adidas dates back to 1949, when Adi Dassler laid the foundations for the brand that is now one of the absolute top brands. The adidas Originals segment was created as a tribute to the iconic models of the past. It revives classic silhouettes and adds modern elements to them. It keeps the legacy of sports and urban fashion alive and relevant.
The most famous models include the immortal Superstar, favoured by members of the hip-hop group Run-D.M.C. in the 1980s, or the minimalist Stan Smith, named after the legendary tennis player. If you're looking for something more futuristic, the adidas NMD or Ozweego are great choices. The common denominator of all models is quality materials and technologies like Boost or Primeknit. And of course, timeless designs that never get old.
Over decades of existence, adidas Originals sneakers have won fans among celebrities, athletes and artists. They are worn by Pharrell Williams, Kanye West and skater Nora Vasconcellos. The brand regularly collaborates with leading designers and other brands. Collaborations with Yeezy, Prada or Beyoncé' s Ivy Park clearly prove that Originals models are not afraid to constantly push the boundaries of fashion.
Whether you're looking for something for everyday wear, to pump up the sporty vibe or simply retro classics, this brand always has something that will get you going. Atdy certainly doesn't skimp on comfort, quality and style. Choose your pair at Footshop and be part of a legend.
